this function involves working with an international organisation as part their database services team. You will be working with a variety of tech across the team, and will also have overall responsibility for the performance, availcapability and general administration of the multi-node Hadoop cluster. Activity This will involve: » Ensuring performance, security, and availcapability of high volumes of mission critical data within the Hadoop clusters. » Developing the expertise base of the broader team by cross training SysAdmins and other DBA's on Hadoop. » Working towards clear documentation and specifications, including database design, coding & security standards, best practices, and training materials for all databases (Oracle, SQL, MySQL, Cassandra, ElasticSearch). » Working with the international team to provide critical round the clock care for all consumers.
Requirements » Strong leadership abilities qualities and capability to technically guide a multi-discipline team of DBA's. » In depth expertise of Apache Hadoop architecture and frameworks including HDFS, YARN, Hive, Kafka, Zookeeper, Kerberos, Ranger and Knox. » Scripting and Automation practice. » Strong Linux and Cloud expertise.
