About the function You would be working as part of a close knit and laid-back team of 8, working on installing, maintaining, and repairing the water infrastructure all over Kapiti. This includes storm water, water mains, fire hydrants and sewerage systems. everyday you could expect to: • Installing or servicing of water mains, including installing man-hole covers • Repairing sewer blockages • Stopcock/toby repairs • Locating and marking of tobies, valves, mains and service connections • Valve and fire hydrant maintenance • Flushing of mains • Servicing broken mains connections About you We are open to a range of different levels of practice for this function. We are happy to consider someone who has started an apprenticeship in plumbing or drainlayer, all the way up to a qualified plumber or layer with years of practice. This will be reflected in the hourly rate, we will pay you what you’re worth. • Have some significant qualification (could be partially completed apprenticeship or years in a trade!) • Be friendly, reliable and have a good team work ethic. • Have some practice in a similar function. • Understand water mains infrastructure. • Clean criminal record, able to pass a drug test.
