The position is full time, but we would consider a minimum of 0.7 FTE.Ashburn Clinic is a private psychiatric hospital established in this small University City over 130 years ago. Information technology operates as a democratic therapeutic community, treating a broad range of patients who are privately or publicly funded. Ashburn's public funding recognises its function as a national, tertiary service using a model of treatment that makes a unique contribution to the overall mental health services in New Zealand. The majority of our patients are adults with mood and anxiety disorders, eating disorders, personality disorders, addictions, and severe and complex responses to trauma. The prosperous applicant will work within a multi-disciplinary team to provide assessment and treatment of inpatients within the therapeutic community, and outpatients in our general adult service, as well as contribute to the after-hours on-call roster. According to their level of practice and seniority, there could also be opportunities for taking on some leadership abilities and management responsibilities. Registration with the NZ Medical Council and a Fellowship with the RANZCP or equivalent is necessary. Ideally the applicant would have some practice working in psychodynamic psychotherapy and a therapeutic community; however an interest in both and an openness to lgain is also acceptable.
