About our group and team Learning Support is a critical part of the Sector Enablement and Support Group in the Ministry. We work with the education sector to ensure that children and young people with additional learning needs are supported to achieve their full potential. One in five children and young people receive some form of learning support all over their early learning and schooling education. The Service Support team is part of Learning Support and is focused on turning policy thinking into action and supporting the investment and budget decisions required to make this happen. The team has portfolio responsibilities for a range of evidence-informed initiatives and services that support children and young people to stayed engaged and achieve in education. Service Support maintains a national overview of the activities being delivered and provides advice, guidance, and improvements to ensure the delivery of high-quality programmes and services that support inclusion, wellbeing, engagement and learning. About this function: » This is a key function working across the Ministry’s national and regional offices and with other agencies to support the translation of policy and strategic intent into the design of services, implementation approaches and continuous improvement » There is a strong engagement, communication and relationship focus with both internal and external stakeholders and a need to provide planning and implementation support for evidence-informed initiatives within budget and timeframes » This is your opportunity to make an impact in the Education sector, specifically in areas that support children and young people to enable them to be present, participate and achieve in early learning services and school About you To be prosperous in this challenging and compensateing function, you will need to be well organised and work collaboratively with key internal and external stakeholders. You will be comfortable communicating your ideas through high-quality written advice, presentations, and face-to-face hui. We will also count on you to take a continuous improvement approach and to constructively challenge existing data, information, systems, and processes.
