Located at Manawa Titi, Balmoral Police Station
On behalf of Joint Venture for Family Violence Sexual Violence agencies, MSD has funded specialist family violence skills at Safety Assessment Meeting Tables (SAM tables). This funding is to ensure family violence skills is engaged to make the most appropriate risk assessment and safety plans.
Employed by PSN Shine and located at Manawa Titi, Balmoral Police Station with a close working relationship with the Manawa Titi Governance Board these positions will be key to supporting and leading a collaborative approach to address police reported family harm incidents. Bringing together information and agencies to respond appropriately to the incidence of whanau harm.
The overarching goal of this service is to provide an enhanced safety response to families who are involved in family harm and these functions will:
   » Contribute specialist family harm skills to the local Safety Assessment Meetings
   » Provides facilitation of the everyday SAM meetings for and on behalf of the wider NGO collective and partners.
   » Consult with and facilitate information sharing between the NGO's and the SAM members.
   » Supports agencies with systems and processes
   » Actively identifies gaps in services across the collective SAM table.
   » Work closely with NGO's to raise consciousness, support and expertise of processes and services.
   » Monitor provider capacity/response to inform SAM referral decisions
   » Promotes and supports a continuous improvement approach across the local sector.
These are not your everyday job, so you will need to have:
   » practice and expertise in the family harm sector, including significant legislation
   » Strong expertise of Iwi including local Iwi Ngati Whatua Orakei, would be an advantage.
   » expertise of Te Reo would be preferable
   » expertise of and established relationships with statutory agencies and local NGO's working in the family harm area
   » Excellent relationship skills and evidence of the capability to influence and collaborate with a range of different organisations
   » Facilitation skills and the capability to work to tight timeframes
   » capability to manage, change and adapt in a function that will evolve over time
These are fulltime functions working 40 hours a week and will need to cover seven days between the two positions, how this is managed will be negotiated with the prosperous candidates.
