On behalf of our client we are eager to start the search for an experienced Graphic Design and Prepress Technician to join their team of skilled specialists on their twilight shift which starts at 3pm.
The successful person will utilize professional publishing, imaging, and prepress software to design publications, create graphics, and prepare publications for production on conventional printing presses, in accordance with graphic arts and printing industry standards.
Duties and responsibilities include (but not limited to):
   » Use specialized publishing software to format and combine text, numerical data, photographs, charts, and other visual graphic elements to produce files ready for printing production.
   » Work collaboratively with others to prepare files for the printing production process.
   » Review, scan and prepare client files for printing process, including color correction, image retouching and silhouetting, and special filtering and textural effects.
   » Produce film negatives, color separations, high quality color proofs and finished t printing plates.
   » Troubleshoot and repair problematic files as needed.
   » Provide technical support to customers regarding new and traditional graphic arts techniques and procedures.
   » Perform maintenance and minor repairs to department equipment.
   » Work with prepress supervisor to develop, implement, and maintain imaging and prepress workflow procedures.
The person we are seeking will have the following skills and attributes:
   » Ability to work in a team environment and contribute to team effort. A positive attitude is essential and ability to adapt to a changing business and work environment.
   » At least 3 years of relevant experience and/or formal qualification in this sector
   » Excellent verbal and written English
   » Be Creative and Innovative and encourage team members to be the same.
