Offer: Speech Language Therapist:MinEducationJob description:Job Description» Permanent, full-time position available» Fixed-term (parental leave) part and full-time positions available » All functions are located in our Christchurch Office About this function Using your specialist speech language therapy skills and practice you will help maximise learning and promote social inclusion for children and young people with learning support needs. » Make a real difference in children and young people’s lives » Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team of dedicated professionals About you The prosperous applicant will be able to demonstrate the following: » The prosperous applicant will be able to work effectively across both school and early childhood sectors » The prosperous applicant will have a working knowledge of our Learning Support Delivery Model » Responsibilities will include working with children and young people, their parents, caregivers, wh?nau, educators and other Learning Support personnel in delivering speech and language services » Excellent teaming, interpersonal and communication skills are essential as is an capability to work in a culturally sensitive manner » Competence in Te Reo M?ori me ona tikanga and be able to weave this skills into the work of Learning Support as a speech-language therapist » The capability to understand and apply the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi is essential as is a strong knowledge of Ka Hikitia Ka H?paitia » Skills in working with children with complex learning/communication needs and knowledge of the early childhood and/or school curriculum are an advantage » A full current driver’s licence is essential As speech-language therapy is a self-regulated profession through the New Zealand Speech language Therapists’ Association, all candidates must be eligible for NZSTA membership. candidates who qualified through a New Zealand university programme are automatically eligible. Overseas candidates who gained their speech-language therapy qualification outside New Zealand are only eligible if they have had their qualifications approved by NZSTA throughMutual Recognition of Credentials Agreement (MRA)orQualifications Approval Process.
