Help shape the future of education
At the Ministry of Education, we work together to shape an education system that delivers equitable and excellent results.
Our organisation is made up of more than 3,000 talented and committed people around New Zealand, from a wide variety of backgrounds and cultures.
While we work in different groups and on different things, we all strive every day to make the biggest difference we can for every child, young person and adult student in our education system.
People Capcapability
The People Capcapability (PC) team supports people leaders to build high-performing teams capable of delivering on our purpose. We understand that to get the best results for children, young people and adult students, our people need to be at their best too. We provide advice and support with workforce planning, capcapability development, organisational design, diversity and inclusion, and wellbeing, as well as everyday recruitment services and employment relations advice.
About Pay Equity
The Ministry Pay Equity team is responsible for investigating and settling pay equity claims raised for staff employed by the Ministry of Education. This is done in conformity with the State Sector Pay Equity Claims Oversight and Governance Framework and the requirements of the Equal Pay Act 1972.
Pay equity means that people are paid equally for doing work of equal value. Information technology acknowledges the value of the expertise, responsibilities and demands of workers in female dominated occupations that have suffered from gender-located discrimination because of perceptions and prejudices about the value of “women’s work”.
About this function
The Coordinator supports the Pay Equity Lead and team in organising and controlling day to day work activities to ensure that pay equity claims are settled in conformity with best practice and Ministry process and documentation requirements.
About you
To be prosperous in this function, you will have practice providing administrative support and quality customer service. You will have practice in organising, including identifying what matters, anticipating next steps and accurately delivering what was asked for.
You will have the capability to communicate effectively, a focus on results and to be able to build and maintain relationships.
You will be joining a collegial fast paced team who work in a flexible environment in the centre of Wellington.
Are you ready to make a difference?
We welcome candidates from diverse backgrounds, including M?ori, Pacific and those with disabilities, who will enrich our knowledge of the education system.
As a government agency, the Ministry is committed to keeping to the Treaty of Waitangi’s guiding principles in our work for and with M?ori students, their wh?nau, hap? and iwi.
