About our group and team
The Special Projects team is currently implementing two high profile projects for the Ministry of suitable education Ka Ora, Ka Ako – healthy school lunches programme and Ikura- manaakitia te whare tangata that provides access to period products in schools.
This work is already proving to have a significant impact for our ?konga. We have taken a regionally-led, nationally supported approach to implementing the programmes to emphasise community partnerships, work flexibly and be able to offer local solutions.
The team consists of around 25 regionally located staff who manage relationships with schools, kura and suppliers, with a support team that include Nutritionists, Programme Coordinators, Senior Advisors and other support functions.
About this function
The Programme Coordinator supports the work of the Programme Manager to provide planning and management of the work programme. The support the Programme Coordinator provides will be to ensure the team delivers on its various work streams. The Programme Coordinator will record the activities, maintain team reporting and provide analysis and advice to managers that support decision-making around processes and systems, resource allocation and work priorities. this function provides project support across the group as required. Information technology is strongly customer focused, in a busy group and is critical in providing written responses to general enquiries and producing other forms of communication such as diagrams and presentations.
About you
The person in this function has significant practice working in project and programme environments. You can anticipate project/programme needs, work at pace and manage set tasks and projects, as well as noticing pressure points and taking the initiative to resolve them.
Your personal qualities include taking pride in producing written work and other forms of communication of the highest quality every time, and you have a proven capability to get the job done. You have the kind of interpersonal savviness that means you relate well with all kinds of people. Your background practice and expertise contribute to the team providing high quality services to the sector and across the ministry.
You will be the following:

   » Interpersonal savvy
   » Well-organised and able to manage multiple pieces of work
   » Certifications in project disciplines are desirable
