Do you hold strong connections and/or have practice in working with Pasifika communities in Auckland or all over Aotearoa? Are you looking for a chance to make your mark on the world?
The Mental Health Foundation of New Zealand (MHF) is seeking a Pink Shirt Day (PSD) Pasifika Coordinator for three months to be part of a team that runs one of our most important and prominent campaigns. this function is responsible for the coordination of the Pasifika activation as part of PSD 2021, our pinkest and most impactful campaign. We are seeking for a special, passionate, hard-working and well-connected individual to come in into this high performing team and help make PSD 2021 our best yet. With planning already underway and PSD only seven weeks away, you'll be full of energy and ready to get stuck into this important mahi right away.
PSD works to stop bullying in schools, workplaces and communities and you'll be an integral part of making a real difference. This 2021 project is already underway and Information technology has a communications and social marketing focus and is located on a health promotion model.
You'll be leading and quickly building the existing partnership with our Pasifika organisations on behalf of the MHF, superviseing the Pasifika project plan and budget, updating the PSD Project Lead and internal team, assisting with Pasifika PSD communications, inputting into the final evaluation, and helping us deliver our biggest and pinkest day yet.
This is a fixed-term three month, two-day a week position located in the MHF offices in Mangawhau / Mount Eden, Auckland. Looking for someone to start immediately.
The MHF is New Zealand's only national mental health charity. We work to improve the mental health and wellbeing of all New Zealanders. We run and partner in nearly 50 programmes and projects.
You will have:
   » practice in working alongside Pasifika communities
   » An capability to build/maintain relationships with stakeholder groups
   » An capability to set and meet deadlines and prioritise tasks
   » practice coordinating budgets and/or project plans
   » An capability to use initiative and work collegially within a team environment
   » An knowledge of, and practice with people from a wide variety of cultures/ ethnicities and life practices
   » An knowledge of the Treaty of Waitangi and practical application
   » An existing knowledge of and availability to grow and extend knowledge of Te Ao M?ori and Te Reo M?ori.

this function sits within the Mental Health Foundation's Community Engagement/Health Promotion team and reports to the Community Engagement/Health Promotion Manager.
The income will be commensurate to the prosperous candidate’s skills and practice for the function.
