Fixed term function until June 2025 A compelling communications function with significant impact, supporting M?ori aspirations. About our mahi Te Ara Tahi (the shared pathway) is about enabling collaboration between Te Rua Mahara o te K?wanatanga Archives New Zealand, Te Puna M?tauranga o Aotearoa National Library of New Zealand and Ng? Taonga Sound & Vision to better meet the needs and aspirations of New Zealanders. This involves the building of a new Archives building, T?huhu, to connect to the National Library to create a Thorndon cultural precinct; regionally led initiatives; digital solutions to enable national and international access; and the embedding of Matauranga Maori standards and ways of working. About the function Reporting to the newly created Communications and Engagement Lead, you will be a trusted advisor to our senior leaders by providing internal and external communications and engagement skills with a deliberate focus on uplifting communications for hap?, iwi and M?ori communities. We are committed to being a better Treaty partner and to strengthen our position to achieve our aspirations in respect of M?ori and Te Tiriti. this function is for a person who understands the importance of the culture and heritage sector and the function Information technology plays in our society. Please note that this is a fixed term function until June 2025. About you This is not your ?traditional' communications function. We are seeking for someone who can, with the right level of authority and practice, champion culturally rich communications and navigate both worlds - te ao M?ori and public sector - to inspire and support change. You will be an excellent writer, meticulous proof-reader, a technical expert and a great relationship builder who can navigate ambiguity with ease. We're looking for a communications expert with a track record of prosperously integrating M?ori perspectives and te ao M?ori values in key strategic programmes that have proven positive results back into M?ori communities. You’ll thrive working in a fast-paced, team environment and skilled in crafting powerful messaging. A passion for and practice working in communications in the arts or heritage sectors would be an advantage.
