Better New Zealand Working at Te Tari Taiwhenua Department of Internal Affairs, you'll have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of New Zealanders. Survivor practices Service Te Tari Taiwhenua will provide continued support to survivors of abuse in care through the Survivor practices Service from July 2023, following the closure of the survivor registrations and private sessions services delivered by the Abuse in Care Royal Commission of Inquiry. The Survivor practices Service will provide a safe, supportive, confidential place for survivors to share their practices of abuse in care, to support healing. Te Tari Taiwhenua will house and support the Service, which will be supervisen by an independent board.Survivor practices shared with the service can be brought together to deepen knowledge of abuse in care and how to prevent it. In sharing their practices, survivors may also be referred to other services. The Service will run from July 2023 through to the introduction of a new, permanent redress system in 2025. Principal Advisor Communications function As the Principal Advisor Communications you will expertly work with the Survivor practices Service team to lead, connect, inspire, identify and coordinate communications opportunities and complex projects. The function will also act as a trusted partner for managers within the Survivor practices Service and provide leadership abilities for kaimahi within the Communications and Engagement team. To be prosperous in this function you will have: » Senior strategic communications practice in a variety of organisations across the public and/or private sectors with demonstrable results » Highly developed strategic communication, relationship management and influencing expertise at all levels of the organisation » Resilience and empathy with emotional strength, sound judgement and tact in dealing with complex and sensitive issues » The capability to expertly manage complex issues and projects, and to make sense of quickly evolving situations » Demonstrable mentoring and coaching expertise » Comfort working in a complex and ambiguous environment You’ll be joining a team passionate about supporting survivors of trauma from abuse in care.
