M? te t?ranga mahi | About the functions We are seeking for two practiced Senior Analysts and an Analyst to join our high performing Climate Strategy and Mitigation Policy teams, that sit within the Climate Business Group. A main focus for both teams is leading the thinking and advice on New Zealand’s second ever emissions reduction plan, which is due in 2024. This is hugely impactful and exciting work, where you will work across the Ministry, across agencies, iwi, business, local government and the academic and NGO communities. Key areas of focus include: » Provide Ministers and other decision makers with high quality strategic advice on issues across the climate portfolio. » Contribute and lead deep, strategic work to deliver on long-term climate priorities, especially at the intersection between priority topics. » Provide shape, scope, challenge and a rapid perspective on new, emerging ideas. » Build strong links to others working on climate strategy across government and with external experts. » Shape the teams’ function and results. As a Senior , you will have opportunities to provide leadership abilities for a wide variety of projects and mentor junior members of the team to build capcapability. As an Analyst , you will support one or more key projects, and have the opportunity to contribute to key pieces of work in a team environment. You will be supported by highly skilled senior members of the team who will share their skills to broaden your policy skills to enable you to thrive in the function. These are permanent functions, however, we are open to someone joining us on a fixed term or secondment basis.
