You would be part of a community that is focused on building positive psychology, motivation, and behavioural change to support AUT’s students’ overall health and wellbeing. Working from a holistic approach of physical, emotional, financial, social, and spiritual health and wellbeing – the function provides individual coaching, group programming and health promotion advice. What kind of person are we looking for: We’re looking for people who can draw on their wealth of knowledge, skills, and passion for enabling the health and wellbeing of our communities within Aotearoa. People who have a depth and breadth approach to both knowledge and working with diverse communities and individual needs – adopting the Te Whare Tapa Wh? approach to wellness of physical, spiritual, wh?nau, and emotional health. We’re seeking effective collaborators who work well with a diverse team and who will resolve complex problems to create clear and engaging opportunities for our students. Skills and practice We are seeking for: » Demonstrated practice in a similar or significant function. » Demonstrated practice in the development and implementation of health and wellness programmes. » Knowledge of coaching theory and motivational interviewing » Knowledge of the Treaty of Waitangi and how Information technology is implemented in professional practice. » Knowledge and knowledge of cultural factors that may impact student learning and engagement. » Knowledge of how to address issues within the Widening Participation context » practice working with individuals with complex needs » Knowledge and practice in designing and delivering workshop programmes to diverse groups » Knowledge of common and long term and/or complex conditions that impact overall health and wellness » practice working with PHO and DHB mental health and addiction frameworks » knowledge and application of the Te Whare Tapa Wh? framework » Knowledge and practice facilitating habit change. » An knowledge of the New Zealand tertiary environment and current barriers to student engagement, health, and wellbeing. » practice in the application and monitoring of quality assurance. You’ll be supported through a community approach to programme design, resource development, and consciousness campaigns to engage our student community in the work that you will deliver.
