About our group and team
The Provider Assurance Group (PAG) is a key part of the Early Childhood Education unit, within the Resourcing and Early Learning Delivery division at the Ministry.
Our key areas of focus are:
   » the avoidance and detection of financial mismanagement and fraud in the early learning sector
   » Building sector capcapability and partnering with the sector to strengthen financial management practices
   » Providing confidence to the Ministry, sector and public that funding is used appropriately
About this function
The Provider Assurance group is a new function at the Ministry. As such you will be excited about being part of a leadership abilities team that is responsible for building a unique and prosperous capcapability from the ground up.
The Principal Advisor, Investigation and Recovery is critical to the Provider Assurance Group’s success. You will lead our investigation efforts and maintain overall responsibility for the quality and timeliness of our investigative activities. You will support our efforts to upskill our people in knowledge indicators of fraud and embed techniques that ensure the integrity of our systems and processes.

About you
To be prosperous you will need the following:
   » Proven work practice as an investigator
   » Hands on practice leading financial investigations
   » Proficient in interpreting evidence and reconstructing events
   » capability to observe minute details and to produce detailed reports
   » In depth knowledge of criminal law, rules, and legislation
   » Familiarity with the rules surrounding the collection and preservation of evidence
   » Thorough knowledge of the investigation process
   » Strong financial and analytical expertise along with strong interviewing expertise
   » Honest and ethical with high levels of integrity and confidentiality
