The prosperous candidate will have a post-graduate qualification and/or significant industry practice, and show evidence of excellence in research and teaching. The ideal candidate will have both technical and conceptual practice in producing 2D and 3D animation for multiple platforms and be an expert in industry-standard 3D software. The prosperous candidate will also be required to develop and deliver new course content that equips students with the expertise and knowledge required for an ethical and sustainable career in animation production. The School of Music and Creative Media Production was recently established to respond to New Zealand's growth and internationally recognised reputation for innovation and creativity in both music and media production. Information technology is staffed by internationally acclaimed and award-winning practitioners and is equipped with brand new state of the art facilities, including one of the largest and most high-tech recording studio complexes in the region. The School of Music and Creative Media Production delivers two undergraduate degree programmes, the Bachelor of Commercial Music and Bachelor of Creative Media Production. The Bachelor of Commercial Music offers majors in Music Practice, Music Technology and Music Industry. The Bachelor of Creative Media Production offers students pathways in Film and TV, Animation and VFX, Game Development, Creative Technologies, Immersive and Producing and Directing. The School also offers new Honours programmes for both Commercial Music and Creative Media Production as well as a Master of Creative Enterprise (MCE). The MCE is designed for students who are looking to apply professional strategies intrinsic to creative disciplines to develop and commercialise their practice.
