We are building new capcapability to provide national curriculum support through our regional network in Sector Enablement and Support to support schools, kura, early learning services and nga kohanga reo. We understand that to provide great curriculum support to akonga working collaboratively together works best.
About this function
Please note, We are pursuing interest from candidates who have a strong track record of practice in the following settings:
   » Primary and intermediate schooling.
These are new and unique opportunities to support teachers and kaiako to design and implement curriculum and marau a-kura that supports children and young people’s wellbeing. You will be located in our Auckland regional office and be part of a newly formed national team working closely with schools, kura, early learning services and kohanga reo (depending on your specialism) to:
   » Provide hands-on support to teachers and kaiako so they can deliver high-quality local curriculum and marau a-kura with a focus on learning and wellbeing
   » Work alongside parents, families, whanau and iwi to design a curriculum that reflects the aspirations of all akonga, their whanau, is aligned to the national curriculum and reflects local needs
   » Work with curriculum resources, rauemi and guidelines (some examples include Ka Hikitia, Te Hurihanganui, Tapasa, the Local Curriculum Design Series, the Wellbeing and Mental Health Education Guidelines, Ready to Read resources, Aotearoa NZ Histories etc)
   » Build collaborative networks within communities and actively share local practices
About you
To be prosperous in this function you will need the following:
   » An in-depth knowledge and practice in implementing the New Zealand Curriculum within a primary/intermediate context
   » broad knowledge and practice in teaching and learning, leadership abilities, curriculum and assessment theory and practice, and an capability to support professional change in a school or kura setting
   » Experiential knowledge and competencies in supporting curriculum design that has evidenced improved results for diverse communities
   » Strong facilitation and interpersonal expertise, diplomacy and an capability to adapt to different interaction styles and contexts
   » Proven practice of building and maintaining effective relationships with whanau and diverse community groups
