About our group and team Learning Support is a critical part of the Sector Enablement and Support Group in the Ministry. We are charged with leading the education sector in ensuring that children and young people with additional learning needs are supported to achieve their full potential through education. Our Learning Support specialists work closely with families, wh?nau, caregivers, schools and early childhood educators in English and M?ori medium settings and other agencies to help maximise learning results and promote social inclusion About this function this function presents an exciting and compensateing opportunity to work in an organisation committed to raising achievement and reducing disparity. We ar e in the midst of a positive change initiative to implement an improved learning support service model. This model brings early learning services, k?hanga reo, schools and kura together in clusters to work in collaboration with the Ministry, RTLB, other agencies, iwi and service providers, to identify, coordinate and facilitate learning support for local learners and their wh?nau The Service Manager (Marlborough/Kaikoura) will hold a critical function which seeks to understand learner need and working with key stakeholders, will lead, influence and develop appropriate partnerships to provide flexible responses. About you To be prosperous you will: » manage and lead a committed professional team delivering a range of Learning Support specialist education services to children and young people » develop a collaborative working relationship with kahui ako, learning support clusters, early childhood providers, schools, local stakeholder groups and agencies with a focus on influencing best practice, supporting innovation and meeting identified need » work with stakeholders and local learning support team to strengthen inclusive practices, build teacher capcapability, raise student achievement and deliver enhanced results for learners with additional needs » actively participate in the evolution and implementation of service delivery improvements at local and regional level, being responsive to need, flexible, adaptive and solution focused.
