Our work grows from an internationally admired pedagogical model, which we continue to collectively develop as a school. The model is located on a Tikanga Marae framework, with the practice of K?iwitanga underpinning everything we do. We have a great opportunity for a full-time tutor to lead the Movement training of actors and co-lead the Performance and Creation training within the Acting programme. The prosperous applicant will join our talented and passionate teaching staff to help deliver and shape new content for the sought-after Acting programme. You will support and develop the Acting programme by being part of a collaborative team that engages in a reflective working practice. You will be expected to provide sound assessment, feedback, and support to students all over their journey at Toi Whakaari. To be prosperous in this function you will be a passionate, practiced and accomplished professional who is able to work collaboratively across departments. You will be a strong relationship builder and people-centric, keeping people at the centre of everything you do. You will be known as an expert in your field, well connected within the industry and you will be expected to carry that forward in all areas of the function. Our ideal candidate will have: » A significant post-graduate qualification (or equivalent professional practice). » practice in teaching at least one indigenous movement tradition, for example: M?ori movement, Siva S?moa, Ura Kuki Airani. » A minimum of 3 years professional practice » Demonstrated teaching practice and commitment to student development in a higher Education environment » A commitment to te Reo me ona Tikanga M?ori.
