The purpose of the National Library is to enrich the cultural and economic life of New Zealand. We hold the collective memory and taonga of the nation, on behalf of future generations. The Digital practice team leads the way in the digital discovery and seamless access to New Zealand's digital content and heritage. The Manager, Digital practice Systems, is a senior position with business responsibility for ensuring the high availcapability of Digital practice systems, and ensuring they meets the continuing needs of Digital practice products, services, and users. Key components of the system include data harvesting and transformation tools, a metadata repository, API interfaces, multiple web applications and engineering tools. this function enables the strategic results of the National Library and Department of Internal Affairs by leading the evolution of the Digital practice systems. Information technology also includes an important leadership abilities function in providing expert advice to other online and service teams in the National Library.
