Help shape the future of education
At the Ministry of Education, we work together to shape an education system that delivers equitable and excellent results. Our organisation is made up of more than 3,000 talented and committed people around New Zealand, from a wide variety of backgrounds and cultures. While we work in different groups and on different things, we all strive every day to make the biggest difference we can for every child, young person and adult student in our education system.
About us
Education Infrastructure Service (EIS), a part of the Ministry of Education, manages the Crown’s second largest property portfolio of around 2,100 schools with a book value of $20.1 billion, the largest payroll in the country, and transportation of over 100,000 students to and from school each day.
Our vision for school property is that all schools have quality learning environments as part of a well-managed and sustainable portfolio that helps deliver equitable and excellent results for every child.

You may also be required to lead ad hoc pieces of work on occasion.
Among other things, you will be expected to draft Ministerial and other correspondence, contribute to briefing material, respond to other ad hoc requests for information, and ensure any formal written material is subject to approval from those with accountcapability. You will be a team player, become a trusted source of advice, and have excellent writing and communication expertise.

» Strong writing expertise, and the drive to produce quality work to a high standard daily
» Customer focus and able to build relationships and engage productively with senior staff
Are you ready to make a difference?
We welcome candidates from diverse backgrounds, including M?ori, Pacific and those with disabilities, who will enrich our knowledge of the education system.
As a government agency, the Ministry is committed to keeping to the Treaty of Waitangi’s guiding principles in our work for and with M?ori students, their wh?nau, hap? and iwi.
We aim to provide stimulating, open working environments where everyone feels significant, valued and supported. But we know that, for everyone here, work is only one part of life. Making time for family, friends, hobbies and passions is vital.
So, if working in the house and/or having a flexible start and finish to the day will help with this, we can usually make Information technology happen. We’d love to hear what this might look like for you, so feel free to outline this in your Cover Letter.
