Maori approach into the way we approach and deliver our project mahi. What you will do The purpose of this function is to establish, lead and shape Te Papa’s PMO. You’ll be the glue between reporting, strategy and project delivery and work hand in hand with our strategy, performance and planning function to develop a Te Papa wide view of performance. You’ll challenge our thinking and practice to bring the best of project approaches whilst developing a PMO practice that works with Te Papa’s bicultural Kaupapa. You will do the following: » Develop a coherent project management strategy and work plan for the Project Management Office team » Create a strong team culture and ensure all team members are able to develop and succeed » Lead the development and embedding of a cohesive project management approach that incorporates a Te A? M?ori approach that supports the strategic priorities of Te Papa » Provide oversight for the priority projects portfolio, and monitor interdependences across the portfolio, including liaising with department leads and ensuring the project management system integrates with, and delivers benefits » Ensure the communication and socialisation of the organisational programme and consolidated programme to Te Papa’s CE, Board, ELT and external partners and/or stakeholders About you To be prosperous in this function you will have: » A solid track record of managing projects and have at least five or more years’ practice managing a team of project managers within a project management office structure » Demonstrated people management skills and practice leading and managing a team » In-depth knowledge and knowledge of effective programme, project and change management strategies, practices and principles » significant tertiary qualification (e.g. MPM, Prince 2, Portfolio and Programme management qualifications) » Implemented significant programmes in a complex environments » Highly developed skills in persuading and communicating at a senior leadership abilities team level » Demonstrated capability in the proactive and effective management of internal and external relationships » Well-developed capability to critically analyse complex information and make effective recommendations » Strong consciousness of the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi/Treaty of Waitangi and demonstrated capability to embody this commitment in their work practice in project change management and Museum or arts sector exposure would be an extra advantage. The income range for this position is $118,648 to $163,141pa.Offers will be made within the range to reflect the skills and practice offered by the candidate and those required of the function, and internal relativities with other employees.
