You will be a dedicated and committed team player, exceptionally well organised with an interest in advancing your communications and/or research and analytical expertise. You will be the first point of contact for visitors and telephone enquiries to the office, which makes practice in a customer facing function highly desirable. You will be responsible for assisting with the tracking and drafting of correspondence, diary management, making travel arrangements, and processing invitation and meeting requests so a strong eye for detail is a necessity. You will also be proficient with the Microsoft Office suite. In collaboration with senior team members, you will assist in the collation and release of responses connected with Official Information Act requests and Written Parliamentary Questions. You may also be required to assist with the maintenance of the Minister's social media platforms, media monitoring, drafting of media releases and newsletters and to provide support with research and analysis when required. Described as someone who can work well under tight timeframes, enjoys multi-tasking, shows initiative and has a proven record of exceeding expectations you will thrive in the busy ministerial office environment where no two days are the same. Te reo M?ori me ?na tikanga are increasingly highly sought expertise and requirements within both the public service and private sector. You will have an consciousness of and ideally the capability to work in te ao M?ori environments as well as an knowledge of what Information technology means to build significant and effective M?ori Crown relationships under Te Tiriti o Waitangi. It is a necessary requirement of this function to hold a National Security Clearance. There are certain criteria that must be met in this regard. A tertiary qualification where your research and analysis expertise have been honed is also highly desirable.
