Jigsaw Whanganui is a well-established Te Tiriti social service organisation supporting families and wh?nau across the Whanganui, Rangitikei, and Ruapehu communities. Jigsaw Whanganui works intentionally to uphold the mana and dignity of wh?nau and their whakapapa.
Reporting to the Team Leader Social Work you will be responsible for providing high-quality therapeutic social work to wh?nau and families to enhance life results for their tamariki.
You will provide regular and continuing therapeutic support to families with complex needs, assisting them to achieve their goals.
Key Job responsibilities:
   » Meet directly with wh?nau and families in their homes to best understand their needs, hopes and aspirations
   » Establish goals with families using a variety of social work methods and resources to achieve them.
   » Advocate for wh?nau and families and assist them to access appropriate resources
Work collaboratively with the wider agency team and community networks to ensure wh?nau and families receive the appropriate support
You will be a skilled and practiced practitioner, highly relationalwith a strengths-located approach, integrity in your mahi and committed to children's safety and wellbeing. You are energetic, tenacious, and able to work safely and respectfully with vulnerable and diverse people.
This is a permanent position located in Whanganui. Hours available are 32 to 40 per week (Monday to Friday). Jigsaw Whanganui is offering a competitive income, an annual wellness package, professional development, and comprehensive peer supervision.

Person Profile :
   » Hold a Social Work degree and full or provisional registration with SWRB
   » practice in working with and alongside whanau and families
   » Able to connect with wh?nau and families in our community through whanaungatanga and manaakitanga
   » A strong commitment to the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and able to work in a Te Ao Maori environment
   » Work collaboratively with others and contribute as part of a wider team
   » A high level of personal integrity and relicapability including a commitment to non-violence in professional and personal lives
   » Commitment to reflective practice through effective use of supervision and other supports
   » Commitment to professional development, further training and learning
   » Good administration, time management and technology expertise
   » Good self-care and self-consciousness expertise, able to maintain good boundaries
   » Must have a valid, full and clean NZ driver licence and access to a reliable car
