Sistema Aotearoa's vision is to unleash the potential of tamariki, wh?nau and communities through orchestral music-making and our mission is to provide barrier-free, inclusive orchestral music-making for diverse communities in Aotearoa New Zealand. Established in 2011, Sistema Aotearoa continues to make a significant difference amongst the M?ori and Pasifika community Information technology serves. located in ?tara, South Auckland,the programme provides tamariki with inspirational opportunities, and in 2022 over 1200 ?konga aged 2 to 18 participated in diverse activities including lively early childhood music sessions, in-school musicianship lessons, instrumental tuition, orchestral rehearsals and concert performances.It is a long-term programme, supporting ?konga from early childhood, through all school stages, and onto tertiary pathways. Our new Lead Tutor (Upper Strings) will be a high calibre musician with a combination of expertise, expertise, values, resilience, and availability to learn. Above all, they will be someone who can inspire tamariki, wh?nau and help build communities through orchestral music making. The Lead Tutor function will support the vision and direction of the Music Director and Programme Director. This will include providing inspirational and high-quality musical leadership abilities to ?konga and joining the programme leadership abilities team. Areas of focus within the function include: developing pedagogy, teaching, and learning (with an upper strings focus); contributing to evaluation, reporting, and monitoring; and leadership abilities in specific areas, such as planning, training, school liaison, and stakeholder relationships.
