About our group and team SE&S – Sector Enablement and Support Our teams around the country work closely with the Early Childhood and Schooling sectors, providers, and communities to provide support, skills and resources to help children and young people reach their full potential. We also directly provide Learning Support for around 40,000 children and young people. About this function We have a great opportunity for a new appointee to join our T?maki Makaurau team. Our aim is to lift student achievement and engagement and bring about change for and with schools, Communities of Learning – K?hui Ako, wh?nau and communities. This position will work strategically with a small team towards covering the barriers to prosperous engagement in education across years 1 to 13. The prosperous applicant will be able to build positive and strong networks with schools, whanau, iwi and other stakeholders including members of the Auckland Youth Courts, Police and Oranga Tamariki. The purpose of this position is to strengthen the Ministry’s response to the needs of young people who are at risk of disengaging from school before achieving NCEA level 2, or equivalent and specifically for students involved in the Youth Justice system and attending Auckland Youth Courts. An extension of this work would be the confirmation and further development of pathways beyond school either into employment or further education across the T?maki Makaurau region.
