Job Opportunity: General Manager – Pacific Aviation Safety Office:JacksonStone and PartnersJob description:Job DescriptionAre you ready to spearhead the transformation of Pacific aviation?The Pacific Aviation Safety Office This is your chance to be a critical leader and execute the exciting Pacific Regional Aviation Strategy, launched in 2022. The strategy sets the stage for a unified, collaborative and connected aviation system, ensuring safety, security and sustaincapability in all Pacific Island states. You will drive change and revolutionise the aviation industry across the region. As General Manager, you will play a pivotal function in delivering the strategic vision for PASO’s members - turning strategies into action. You will be accountable for driving PASO's performance through a significant period of transformation, ensuring PASO delivers its core function of helping fuel the success of its Pacific member states through high-quality aviation safety and security and regulatory oversight services. You will also ensure PASO’s broader work fosters air connectivity, unlocks economic opportunities, and enhances social well-being all over the Pacific through various programmes and initiatives. As a chief advocate for aviation in the region, you will engage at the highest levels of government and with ministers, as well as with heads of international and regional organisations and development partners. This will include fostering strong partnerships and alliances at technical levels. Your exceptional diplomacy and relationship-building expertise will be essential in mobilising support, resources and commitment to ensure the prosperous execution of the regional and PASO vision and its strategic goals. You will be a proven and innovative leader with an aviation and regulatory background, exceptional people management expertise, and a strategic mindset in leading operations. Pacific-region practice would be highly valued – you will have an knowledge of diverse Pacific cultures (there are ten member countries) and an appreciation of the meaning behind ?for the Pacific, by the Pacific'. You will need to bring energy and ideas to ensure PASO has a thriving and resilient aviation workforce, and that Pacific nationals are empowered to become the driving force behind the transformation of the aviation sector.
