In the gambling system we deliver community wellbeing through reducing gambling related harms; and in the anti-money laundering (AML) system we protect the trust in the financial systems of Aotearoa. We are a responsive risk-located regulator focused on reducing harm, and ensuring that iwi, hap? and communities across Aotearoa are safe, resilient, and thriving. The opportunity: TheSenior Data Analyst, Intelligence and Insights is an integral part of the intelligence function. In this function you will undertake complex data analysis to assist intelligence analysts in the early detection of emerging or changing issues, trends, and risks. Your success in this function will be your capability to analyse and interpret multiple sources of data to translate Information technology into significant and accessible information and insights, to help inform the production of tactical, operational, and strategic intelligence outputs. You will engage across the Department, our stakeholders, partners, and industry to maintain current expertise of data sources processes, and best practice. As this is a newly established function, you have the opportunity to bring your innovation and continuous improvement mindset to develop data-focused processes and outputs to help enable the intelligence function tackle challenging, interesting, and real-world problems. About you: The practice, expertise, and expertise you will bring to this position will be: » Demonstrated practice in analysing a complex range of data sources, producing accessible insights for a range of stakeholders, and the capability to translate complex data to a range of audiences. » The capability to prioritise and actively manage multiple work streams within tight time constraints. » Proven initiative and a proactive working style, with an eye on continuous improvement. » practice in data manipulation, analysis, and visualisation, for the purpose of informing intelligence outputs and customers. » practice in conducting analysis to identify trends, patterns, and relationships in data that indicate changes in risks or issues. » practice in the development of data analysis and visualisation processes, ensuring compliance with Department guidelines and security protocols. » practice with a range of data analysis and visualisation software and tools. » capability to ensure the integrity, accuracy, and consistency of processes used to analyse data for the intelligence function.
