Our team works to ensure staff have everything they need to succeed. This can come in many forms including development, training and education, employment, support and access to information and resources to keep them safe and well.
We’re looking for People Practice and Capcapability champions who can embrace our values to join our waka. Bring your practice, expertise, and ideas to help our people shape the work we do. We’re not afraid of positive change - it’s what drives us!
this function can be worked from anywhere in our Lower North region – Hawkes Bay, Manawatu-Wairarapa, Taranaki/Wanganui, Wellington/Kapiti or Hutt Valley. Travel to Wellington will be required once per month with travel costs being covered by Ara Poutama Aotearoa.

This position supports the team to scope, plan and deliver initiatives to enable management and staff to lift their levels of cultural capcapability and effectiveness at the regional level in line with the Ara Poutama Aotearoa’s Te Ao M?ori capcapability framework Wh?inga Amorangi. The initial focus of these positions will be on M?ori-specifc cultural capcapability and in future years this will extend to include other cultures in line with Aotearoa’s changing demographics and increasing ethnic diversity.

The knowledge, expertise and practice required to undertake this function prosperously includes:
   » practice in the development and delivery of learning programmes and opportunities for adults
   » Knowledge and practice or proven demonstrated support in leading cultural interventions in large organisations
   » knowledge of adult learning needs
   » Knowledge and expertise in Te Reo M?ori, Tikanga/kawa,
   » Knowledge of H?kai Rangi - and how cultural capcapability is needed to support change all over Ara Poutama Aotearoa
   » Good communication expertise
   » Effective planning and organisation expertise
   » Facilitation or coaching expertise and practice
   » capability to work effectively as part of a wider national team
   » Is committed to operational design and delivery that is effective for M?ori, Pacific People and other cultures
   » An knowledge (or an openness to developing an knowledge) of the Treaty of Waitangi/Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its application to the work of government departments
   » Strong level of general cultural capcapability and consciousness, able to work effectively with diverse groups of people
