Purpose of the function: Howick Historical Village is going through an exciting time with a new vision and purpose with the development of our new Strategic Plan, available here. As a crucial member of the finance team and working closely with the Treasurer and Manager, you will be responsible for the nuts and bolts of the finances for HHV. You are responsible for all accounts payable/receivable, payment processes, payroll, preparing budgets, reporting and all bank reconciliations at the month end. We are a small team so flexibility is key - sometimes the General Manager may ask you to do tasks outside of your job description. Measurable results: » Accurate systems maintained and regularly reviewed. » Able to prepare finances to audit level. » Contributing to meeting key strategic goals. » Evidence of pro-active contribution to support the vision, values, and culture of HHV. » All significant compliance issues, policies and procedures are upheld and implemented. » All health and safety procedures adhered to and followed. About you: »Knowledge/Qualification/practice » Degree in accounting or business management. » At least 3 years' practice in an accounts focused function. » Knowledge of payroll systems, preferably Smartly. » practice with Xero or other accounting systems. » practice with Spotlight reporting. » practice with retail and POS systems, including Vend, Stripe, and Shopify. » practice with the Microsoft Office suite such as Teams, Outlook, Word, and Excel. »expertise and Abilities » An analytical mind. » Trustworthy with a proven track record of capability to maintain data integrity via confidentiality and discretion. » Negotiation expertise and the capability to develop strong working relationships. » Commercial and business consciousness. » Highly organised, structured, and able to manage your time effectively through taking a systematic approach to your tasks. » capability to clearly and concisely explain financial concepts to help build consensus and knowledge across organization. » Communicate effectively, and appropriately raise issues and concerns. » availability to collaborate and be part of a small team.
