Job Opportunity: Summer Orchard Staff/pickers:Job description:Summer Orchard Staff/pickersPayment: Paid Position ($20 starting wage)Job location: Waipu Region: Northland & Bay of Islands practice: No practice Necessary Listing Added: 18/10/2021 Enthusiastic staff are required over the summer for picking blueberries in our Waipu orchard! Who are we? We are a family owned business located in Ohaupo in the Waikato. We have established Orchards in Ohaupo, Ngatea, Otautau (Southland) and in Waipu (Northland). We are New Zealand’s largest holder of Blueberry land with 750 acres (300+ hectares) currently in production. Our head office and main processing facilities are located just 20 minutes south of Hamilton, and the blueberries are grown, harvested, frozen and packed all on site. We also run Pick Your Own (PYO) and café operations through the summer across all our existing orchards. Some functions may pay by piece rate, which means that you get paid by how much you pick. You will always gain at least minimum wage, but piece rate means you may gain more if you can pick a lot of fruit. Our roster runs over a 7 day period.
