Offer: Clinical Wellbeing Advisor:HainesAttractJob description:Job DescriptionFixed-term until December 2022.Full-time Te Whanganui a Tara (Wellington) or T?maki Makaurau (Auckland) – we’ll be flexible for the right person. About the function We are seeking for a seasoned, registered mental health practitioner to provide advice and support to survivors from within and connected to the learning (intellectual) discapability, neurodiversity and cognitive impairment community, who engage with the Inquiry and share their practices; ensuring they are supported appropriately and with empathy. Working in collaboration with survivors and their wh?nau, you will complete wellbeing screening, assessments, and manage short-term and crisis support to people who have practiced or been exposed to trauma via a telephone-located engagement. You will contact with existing wellbeing providers where required to create packages of care or support and seek a range of safeguarding activities and responses, including supported decision making, that promote and protect the human rights, wellbeing and culture of disabled people and vulnerable adults that is respectful, culturally responsive and recognises the diverse needs of disabled people and vulnerable adults at risk of abuse and neglect. From time to time, you will also engage with survivors and the public via private sessions, public hearings and community engagement to provide wellbeing support. About you As a qualified and practiced LDNDCI mental health professional, you will thrive in a multidisciplinary environment with a range of professionals from varying backgrounds. You will have proven case management practice working across a range of cultures, communities, localities and environments. This may include practice working in prisons. It’s also critical to us that you bring kaupapa, tikanga and reo M?ori approaches to your work and ensure that Te Tiriti o Waitangi underpins what we do. In addition, you will bring the following: » practice working with the learning (intellectual) discapability, neurodiversity and cognitive impairment community » practice working Proven history of conducting mental health screening and assessment and providing short-term support, including crisis support to people who have practiced trauma » Current practising certificate is a requirement for this function » Excellent communication and relationship management expertise » Strong background or knowledge of a trauma informed approach and how this can be applied within organisations » Strong knowledge of Te Reo me ?na tikanga M?ori, including a working knowledge of Te Tiriti o Waitangi » Empathy and compassion » capability to travel In return you will get to work with some truly passionate and talented individuals within the largest Royal Commission New Zealand has ever seen.
