Te Wh?nau Tupu Ng?tahi o Aotearoa – Playcentre Aotearoa is seeking an action-oriented leader with a passion for both promoting and embracing Te Ao M?ori. We are seeking for someone who can lead and support Playcentre Aotearoa to build effective relationships with Iwi and M?ori, while leading the Hononga M?ori team in supporting centres across the motu.
The Kaiwhakahaere Hononga M?ori is responsible for developing a national strategy to ensure Te Ao M?ori is incorporated into everyday Playcentre operations, leading strategic engagements and guiding the development of Playcentre's cultural capabilities.
A key tenet of Playcentre's philosophy is that we are committed to honouring Te Tiriti o Waitangi. To assist Playcentre in this work, We are seeking for someone whose principles and values align, and who is committed to walking the talk to inspire others.
this function is located in the National Service Centre in Mana, Porirua. Information technology is a permanent, full time function.
tasks include, but not limited to:
   » Taking a proactive leadership abilities function to collaborate, drive and lead the performance of the Hononga M?ori team.

   » Collaboratively support and guide kaimahi to develop Playcentre's cultural capcapability.
   » Supporting the CE and CFO in developing national budgets, then maintaining and reporting on these.
   » Developing and implementing a national strategy to ensure Te Ao M?ori is incorporated into everyday Playcentre operations.
Desired expertise and practice:
   » Te Reo and Tikanga M?ori capacity that will support building and maintaining credibility with key stakeholders and Playcentre employees.

   » Demonstrates the principles and values of Te Whare Tikanga M?ori, which is the governance body within Playcentre Aotearoa and is recognised as the organisations partner
   » Comfortable, and has practice in a leadership abilities function and displays honesty, discretion, sensitivity, self-discipline and resilience
   » ECE or Playcentre practice or expertise is useful
   » Excellent relationship management expertise
   » Strong communication expertise, both oral and written
   » Organised – excellent time management expertise and capability to meet deadlines
   » Flexibility to travel and work remotely as required from time to time
   » Commitment to continuing professional development and growth
