The Auckland Regional Forensic Psychiatry Service, or the Mason Clinic as Information technology is often known, is the largest Forensic Mental Health Service in New Zealand. We serve the four Northern District Health Boards including all courts in the northern region and five prisons.
We deliver a comprehensive range of Forensic Mental Health Services, including secure inpatient acute and rehabilitation services which connect to community rehabilitation services, services for offenders with an intellectual discapability, culture specific programmes for M?ori, court liaison and prison mental health services. This includes a regional service to Northland Region Corrections Facility at Ngawha and Northland.

We continue to develop our services to support tikanga M?ori within our facility and are looking to recruit Taurawhiri - Cultural Advisors.
We are seeking for someone who has a strong knowledge of whanaungatanga, confident in Te Reo M?ori and has practices in M?ori health care to workas an integral part of our Forensic Prison Team. The Taurawhiriwill be responsible for providing Tikanga M?ori cultural assessments to support an appropriate treatment pathway for M?ori service users on the forensic caseload.
