Job Description

Walk into a stimulating and fulfilling environment as you support MP Rino Tirikatene within the largest electorate in the country, Te Tai Tonga. We need your strong relationship building and time management expertise within the office as you make connections across the community, with business owners or local schools.

M? te t?nga –About the function
Your calm and resilient nature enables you to support and empower wh?nau voice by having a chat or providing advice to people across the electorate. The high level of empathy you carry, and cultural consciousness helps you to lend your ear to constituents, making them feel heard and supported.
As an employee of Parliamentary Service, you will be impartial in your function. consciousness of the political landscape may be beneficial in supporting the MP. Due to this function supporting a M?ori electorate MP, expertise of tikanga and te reo M?ori would be an advantage.

You will receive a Parliamentary Service induction which will set you up to succeed within this environment, as well as continuing learning and development opportunities.
This is an events-located, fixed-term function linked to the MP, working 20 – 40 hours per week, located in the house in Christchurch/?tautahi. Some flexibility in hours may be required.
The appointing income band for this function is $58,932 to $73,665 per annum for full time equivalent. If you work less than 40 hours, your income will be pro-rated. Appointments will be located on your expertise and practice.
