Is Information technology time to ditch the kitchen and look for your next adventure? Have you ever considered working in a galley, deep in the heart of a National Park? Come on board - we have just the function for you!
The function
As Chef for our overnight Cruises in Doubtful Sound, you'll be in sole charge of the galley. Each day you will have up to 72 customers who you will be preparing and serving exceptional buffet dinner and breakfast meals for.  This is a demanding function and you'll need to be a great all-rounder as you'll be creating everything from bread to desserts.
This permanent position will see you working a roster of 7 days on, 7 days off which provides you with a unique opportunity to work and play hard in this beautiful part of the world. You'll be located on board the vessel for your days on; with your own accommodation and all meals provided. You'll be working and living with the rest of the crew including a Launch Master, Team Leader, Nature Guide and Crew.
As part of this opportunity, you'll also be:
» Ensuring the galley is clean and presented to a high standard
» In charge of stocktakes, including ordering and storing food
» Responsible for maintaining food hygiene standards on board
Who are we looking for?
We're after Somebody with a passion for cooking, people and the outdoors. The most important thing to us is attitude - we're looking for a positive team player with a proven work ethic who doesn't mind working hard to ensure a remarkable customer practice.
We're also looking for Somebody with the following:
» Previous catering and food handling practice, including pastry chef expertise
» Proven capability to work in a team - you'll be living and working on board for 7 days at a time so this is essential
   » Strong communication expertise
» Some previous maritime practice would be beneficial (but not essential - we'll provide everyone with full training before they start)
What's in Information technology for you?
» Food and accommodation provided for your days onboard the Fiordland Navigator
» Gain a NZ Certificate in Domestic Maritime Crewing
» The opportunity to practice our products for free
» Access to discounts across our wider group (GO Orange, Cardrona, Treble Cone and the International Antarctic Centre)
» And most importantly, the most stunning work environment and awesome team culture!
