N?ku te Ao Capital E is seeking an innovative educator to design and deliver digital learning programmes for schools. From game design and music-making in our digital technology lab, to live broadcast production in our purpose-built tv studio-bring your passion for experiential education, digital technology, and creativity to the design and delivery of inspirational practices for ?konga.

In an exciting period of transformation, you'll be part of the project team working towards the redevelopment of Te Matapihi Ki Te Ao Nui, the reimagined Central Library in Te Ng?kau Civic Square. You'll help to shape new practices for digital learning, as we work towards our relocation to this innovative space in 2025.

Currently this function is located at Capital E on the Wellington waterfront, in the fast-paced learning environments of Te Whare Matihiko/Media Lab and Te Whare Whakaata/OnTV studios. Information technology offers the opportunity to collaborate across other practice Wellington sites - City Gallery Wellington, Wellington Museum, and Space Place. This position is permanent, full-time. Occasional evening and weekend work will be required. ?

Te t?ranga | The function

You will:
   »
Design, deliver, and evaluate engaging digital learning sessions for ?konga.
   »
Develop innovative ways to work with kaiako to bring local curriculum to life.
   »
Actively support our aims to embrace Te Ao M?ori and increase engagement with M?ori audiences, through your learning programmes.
   »
Actively contribute to the project team working towards the development of Te Matapihi Ki Te Ao Nui Central Library.

Ng? tino p?kenga me ng? wheako | The essential expertise and practice for the function

You will:
   » Be a strong educator: confident in working with and responsive to tamariki and ?konga,
   » Have sound expertise of digital technologies with national curriculum frameworks. expertise of LEOTC/ELC programming is an advantage.
   » Possess excellent practical technical expertise, good trouble-shooting expertise, and strong networks in the tech, digital, and creative industries.
   » Have undertaken professional learning and development in relation to Te Ao M?ori, including te reo M?ori me ?na tikanga.
   » Possess the capability to enrich the local curriculum through learning programmes that connect with mana whenua.
   » Possess excellent communication and facilitation expertise.
   » Be a great team player - creative, reliable, proactive, and positive.
   » Hold a genuine interest in research and innovation to design responsive and engaging learning programmes for school groups and developing early childhood offer.
