M? m?tou / About us The Office of the Children's Commissioner is an Independent Crown Entity, appointed by the Governor-General, carrying out responsibilities and functions set out in the Children's Commissioner Act 2003. On 1 July 2023, the Office of the Children's Commissioner will become a new entity - the Children and Young People’s Commission. Staff of the current Office of the Children’s Commissioner, including this function, will transfer into the Commission to deliver its responsibilities for advocating for mokopuna and monitoring important aspects of government's treatment of them. M? te t?nga / About the function Reporting to the Corporate Services Manager, the Administrator function will be responsible for making sure our tari (office) runs smoothly by providing high-quality administration and logistical support. The job is varied and needs someone who is proactive, enjoys helping others and is happy to get stuck into whatever needs doing, including: » act as the first point of contact for all visitors and ensuring that the tari is well maintained » organise stationary orders, catering, venue/room bookings, travel arrangement, office equipment maintenance, new staff set-up » provide financial support – processing invoices » support the running of the Health, Safety and Wellbeing Committee Ng? p?manawatanga ?u / What you will bring You will be an practiced administrator, ideally with a background in providing administration and logistical support within a team environment. Your organisational skills will be second to none and you will be exceptional in your capability to make things happen seamlessly. The capability to multi-task and prioritise work will be your superpower!
