About our group and team Our group, Te Pae Aronui provides integrated operational support to our regions for their work with the education sector and others to deliver inclusive education that meets the needs of ?konga and whanau. The purpose of the System Innovation team is to identify, progress and contribute to opportunities to improve education results for children and young people who require additional support to learn. We have a performance improvement focus looking across the whole system and connect with many teams across the Ministry. About this function Our work is varied; from long term strategic change to fast design and start up initiatives. As a senior advisor in the System Innovation team you’ll help to identify and progress opportunities to improve the performance of the education system for children and young people with additional learning needs. We are leading or contributing to a range of current initiatives including the Learning Support Action Plan, Learning Support Coordinator implementation, Deaf Education and NZSL in Education, programmes arising from COVID-19 and the annual Budget cycle. this function is full time and located in Wellington. The function could be available as an internal or external secondment for 12 – 18 months if that is desirable. There is some flexibility around working arrangements. You will work closely with colleagues across the Ministry of Education, and with education sector and other key stakeholders. About you You will bring great relationship management and team working expertise, and be results focused, organised and action oriented. Preparing high quality advice for decision-makers is a core aspect of this function, so practice in this is desirable. You will understand and be able to apply the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and tangatawhenuatanga in your work. We are seeking for a positive, can-do person who wants to make a difference for children and young people with learning support needs. You will need to be effective in an emergent context, and be a capable navigator.
