Following a review of our People and Capcapability service offering, we have established Development Adviser functions located in our regions that support our people in the areas of development, practical learning, cultural capcapability and training.

M? te t?nga |About the function
This position supports the team to scope, plan and deliver initiatives to enable management and staff to lift their levels of cultural capcapability and effectiveness at the regional level in line with the Ara Poutama Aotearoa’s Te Ao M?ori capcapability framework Wh?inga Amorangi. The focus of this position will be on M?ori-specifc cultural capcapability and in future years this will extend to include other cultures in line with Aotearoa’s changing demographics and increasing ethnic diversity.

The knowledge, expertise and practice required to undertake this function prosperously includes:
   » practice in the development and delivery of learning programmes and opportunities for adults
   » Knowledge and practice or proven demonstrated support in leading cultural interventions in large organisations
   » knowledge of adult learning needs
   » Knowledge and expertise in Te Reo M?ori, Tikanga/kawa,
   » Knowledge of H?kai Rangi - and how cultural capcapability is needed to support change all over Ara Poutama Aotearoa
   » Good communication expertise
   » Effective planning and organisation expertise
   » Facilitation or coaching expertise and practice
   » capability to work effectively as part of a wider national team
   » Is committed to operational design and delivery that is effective for M?ori, Pacific People and other cultures
   » An knowledge (or an openness to developing an knowledge) of the Treaty of Waitangi/Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its application to the work of government departments
   » Strong level of general cultural capcapability and consciousness, able to work effectively with diverse groups of people
Utu ?-tau | income
The mid point of the income range is $78,130 with the full range(85%-120%) being $66,411 – $93,756.Appointment and remuneration will reflect expertise and practice significant to the function.
