We are pursuing a General Surgeon who is passionate about rural healthcare and Rural Generalism. What you'll do with your time Te Nikau Hospital and Health Centre opened in late 2020. The level of this facility is above that normally expected for population base of 33,000. There is a comprehensive road and air retrieval and transfer system, as well as a modern CCU. We have a transalpine alliance with Canterbury, through this you will benefit from the support of your surgical colleagues in Christchurch Hospital, and be able to participate in joint educational and audit activities. Your function will encompass a broad range of general surgical activities and will include endoscopy, acute (on-call) services, in-patient and out-patient responsibilities as well as the supervision and general training of junior medical staff What we are about We are unique and like no other in New Zealand with a close-knit community where your work will make a real difference.
