We are seeking for Blueberry Pickers to start picking beginning of January until early March. There should be work for 6-8 weeks. Picking blueberries : Pickers are paid on a ‘per kilo picked’ basis. New pickers are assessed to demonstrate they are capable of achieving and maintaining our performance and food quality standards. Note that a reasonable level of fitness is essential, due to the nature of the work. Pickers can expect to spend the whole day (approx 8+ hours) in the field when picking fruit, and should have water, nibbles and lunch with them. We provide sunscreen, water and a portable toilet nearby, as the main building is approximately 10 minutes away from some blocks. Picking is highly weather, and fruit dependant. Orchard work is fun and friendly, where you can enjoy the outdoors in Southland. You should make sure you have; · Sensible footwear · Clothing appropriate for work in the bright sun (including a hat) – and something for when Information technology gets cooler or wet · Bring your own packed lunch, bottled water and snacks – Otautau is approximately 7km away Please note that a reasonable level of English is expected to follow our health and safety procedures, and induction training. Free camping facilities: We have a camp kitchen, toilet and showers and laundry facilities. We don't have beds, so you do need to bring a tent or van to sleep in. Our orchard is located in the bottom of the South Island about 50km from Invercargill. The closest town Otautau is about 7km away and has a great supermarket, library, 2 pubs, a cafe, a fish and chips and Chinese takeway. The beach is nearby, as are tramping and caving options. We also are very near Te Anau and Milford Sound and only 2 hours from Queenstown. We look forward to meeting you! Skills:
