The Opportunity
Join a dynamic research and evaluation team producing evidence that informs decision making for better social results. The function sits within the Research and Evaluation team in the Strategy and Insights Group. Our Group leads development and implementation of the Ministry's strategy by creating insights for effective decision making, focusing resources on the right investments, and knowledge and evaluating performance.
About the team
The Research and Evaluation team are champions and custodians of evidence within the Ministry. We are responsible for looking ahead, developing, and delivering a programme of research and evaluative work that produces insights and positions knowledge products to shape the Ministry's strategic decisions. We are experts in results-located design, research, and evaluation, deploying a range of methodologies to answer questions at the core of effective social development intervention. We support quality, ethics, publication, transparency, and empowerment through the research process.
About the function
We are seeking for someone to manage our strategic work programming and drive our focus on user-centred knowledge product design. this function will see you having impact and leveraging the value that research and evaluation delivers for MSD and for social development results.
You'll be a high performing, committed Programme Manager with a strong drive to influence decision making. practiced in user-centred product design. Passionate about evidence informing investment.
You'll be competent in facilitating change, managing a high performing team, finding satisfaction in functions that require you to lead strategic shifts in practice. You have practice formulating and rolling out strategic workplans and facilitating priorities with senior leadership abilities. You thrive on, and can build, significant relationships with your teams, stakeholders, and senior leaders across a range of MSD networks.
You're a natural leader that is innovative and strategic. You contribute outside of your area, challenge current thinking, anticipate future issues and help teams deliver quality influential work on time – Better Insights, Better Decisions, Better Lives.
If you have a proactive approach to solving problems, are well organised and can plan ahead while managing deadlines then we'd like to hear from you.
What you will bring to function
   » Proven practice developing and leading the initiation and planning phase of work programmes and business projects and the capability to meet critical timeframes
   » Proven practice in using agile programme and project management frameworks/tools and decision support tools
   » Developed networks with key relationships, strong internal and external stakeholder management in government and/or welfare setting at executive level
   » Proven leadership abilities expertise and capability to make effective judgements, prioritise conflicting demands and resolve major issues
