In addition, the Unit provides supra-regional services in vascular anomalies and laser. We have an internationally renowned plastic and burns unit, regional rheumatology and public health services, and all our specialties have a strong focus on excellence and innovation. About the function Due to parental leave, the Regional Plastic Surgery service has a 9 month gap at consultant level they wish to cover. This position would suit a generally trained plastic surgeon with subspecialty interests of hand, skin cancer, melanoma and breast being useful. this function will also have a commitment to a general plastic trauma list and will contribute to 'see and treat' skin lesion clinics. There will be a general plastic surgery on call commitment equating to 1:10 currently. expertise and practice candidates must be registered or eligible for vocational registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand and should have a minimum of 2 years' practice post FRACS or equivalent in plastic and reconstructive surgery.
