We are currently accepting applications from International candidates, however due to border restrictions caused by Covid-19 and the worldwide pandemic, we will only process applications from non NZ Citizens or non NZ Residents who are likely to gain border exemption and an appropriate NZ Work Visa.
The School of Psychology is seeking a lecturer to develop and disseminate expertise, ideas and theories in the areas of Indigenous, bicultural and multicultural psychology. We are particularly looking for someone who will enhance research publication and supervision.
We are pursuing an appointee who will have a commitment to developing a research programme that complements the research strengths of the School of Psychology and is manageable within the resources available, as well as having the potential to attract external funding. Teaching in the School includes both online and k?nohi ki te k?nohi (face to face) delivery modes.
We seek a teacher who will inspire all undergraduate students, but particularly M?ori students, to continue on to graduate study, and provide inspiration and nurturance to those they supervise at the graduate level, facilitating their growth into skilled researchers.
candidates should have a doctoral degree in Psychology (or be extremely close to completion). practice in tertiary teaching, research and publication related to psychology in general and m?tauranga in particular would be an advantage. The appointee will be expected to conduct research alongside M?ori as well as teach at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and to supervise Honours projects, Masters theses and Doctorates.
Collaborative teaching and research on School of Psychology programmes offered across our campuses will be a priority. Staff may be required by the Head of School to teach for short periods on any campus of the University.
The School offers degree programmes to doctoral level in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences and in the College of Science. As part of Massey University's obligation to Te Tiriti o Waitangi , the School of Psychology is committed to incorporating m?tauranga into its programmes.
It is expected that this position will be available from July 2021. Appointment will be on the Lecturer scale at a competitive level relative to qualifications and practice.
