The Royal Commission of Abuse in Care is undertaking several investigative work programmes, each comprising of a multidisciplinary team, led by a Lead Counsel Assist.
Working across?a range of these programmes; you will produce effective research and analysis in conformity with the programmes and their continuing needs.
You will provide expert advice in an analytical and collaborative way, including managing work priorities, and collecting and disseminating significant research.
You will also provide support to the Manager, Research in managing the research components.
Alongside the Manager, Research, you will assist in developing and coaching a team of high performing research professionals to ensure that all research requirements for the investigation programmes are delivered on.
Valuing collaboration and the wider practice that comes from multidisciplinary teams, will be key in your success of this function.
What you’ll bring for success:
   » broad research practices and disciplines practice
   » practice working collaboratively in multi-disciplinary teams to create evidence-located advice
   » Proven capability to manage workflows in a fast-paced environment
   » Previous practice coaching and mentoring teams
   » Strong knowledge and practice of Te Reo me ona tikanga M?ori and Te Reo M?ori in practice
   » Eligibility to work in New Zealand – this includes holding a valid work visa that covers the whole period of employment
   » Availcapability to travel all over New Zealand

   » Confidence in cultural practices and discapability inclusive approaches
   » Show knowledge that is consistent with Te Tiriti o Waitangi
   » A demonstrated knowledge of trauma informed approaches

The Royal Commission of Inquiry into Historical Abuse in State Care and in the Care of Faith-located Institutions is investigating the abuse and neglect of children, young people and vulnerable adults who were in the care of state and faith-located institutions in New Zealand between 1950 and 1999 and will make recommendations aimed at stopping this happening in the future.
