ELSA – Early Learning and Student Achievement
The Early Learning and Student Achievement Group sets the system-level learning for every child and student. Working between policy and customer facing functions, there is a significant political, stakeholder and public interest in the high performance of this group and the education curriculum and teaching workforce results we seek for New Zealand.
About Pathways and Progress
The function of the Pathways and Progress group is to set the direction for what students learn, how they progress and how school leaders and teachers can achieve that for every child and student across school years 1 to 13. The group uses evidence and educational trends to design targeted solutions, resources, tools and services that lift educational achievement for all. The group co-designs and codevelops innovative approaches to achieve policy intentions, plans prosperous implementation strategies and monitors to ensure a return on investment.
About this function
We are pursuing a Lead Adviser to support Curriculum Leads with a specific focus on Maori medium education in early learning. They will join a team who will be responsible for the development support that will support early learning, nga kohanga reo, schools and kura, and will provide the key tools to support the work of the Curriculum Leads.
The Lead Adviser will develop business processes, frameworks, and models that support improved design, delivery and implementation practice and ensure the sector is supported with the appropriate tools, resources and guidance.
About you
We are seeking for a Lead Adviser with the following capabilities:
   » Familiarity with early learning curriculum and/or education in New Zealand
   » Sound Knowledge and knowledge of Te Whariki He whariki matauranga mo nga mokopuna o Aotearoa and Te Whariki a te Kohanga Reo
   » Proficiency in Te Reo Maori
   » Proficiency with implementation of curriculum products
   » capability to work quickly and tolerate ambiguity
   » Stakeholder management expertise
   » practice in design thinking and co-design processes desirable
   » Excellent written communication expertise
