About Te Ara Kaimanawa and Business Support
Te Ara Kaimanawa – the Graduate Achievement, Vocations and Careers (GAVC) group, is responsible for tertiary education strategy and policy, sector performance analysis, youth guarantee, vocational pathways and international education strategy, policy and engagement. We work in a variety of ways to ensure young people transition prosperously into work or further study. We also help New Zealand compete internationally as a place to study.
Te Ara Kaimanawa has three main teams working on various aspects of our work programme. Our main teams are the Office of the Deputy Secretary (ODS), Tertiary and International. Sitting in the Office of the Deputy Secretary, the Business Support team provides significant proactive support to Tier 2, 3 and 4 managers. From recruitment assistance, machinery of government management, inbox and calendar oversight, logistics and procurement. All of the supports that help a busy policy group operate and meet the demands of a busy work programme.
About this function
We’re in need of a passionate and highly skilled Personal adjunct. The function provides the traditional PA supports of pro-active administrative and secretariat assistance to members of our Tier 3 leadership abilities team along with reactive re-organising as deadlines, diaries and deliverables shift.
About you
We are seeking for someone who’s passionate about making a difference and values people over processes. You’ll be expected to work collaboratively with stakeholders and display the wisdom to be both strategic and tactful when Information technology comes to getting the mahi done.
It’s important that you have the following expertise and attributes:
   » Strong people, organisational and administrative expertise that enable you to effectively perform in a fast-paced environment
   » A sound knowledge of administrative systems and procedures
   » Strong staff and stakeholder relationship management expertise
   » The capability to understand and apply the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and tangata whenuatanga
   » Excellent written and oral communication expertise
