With these commercial projects about to commence, this is a great opportunity for a Senior QS to gain valuable practice and to showcase your skills in cost management while being exposed to advanced construction methods. The function: Reporting to the commercial manager and being responsible for a number of projects, you will be responsible for administration of subcontractor contracts, cost estimating, contract negotiation, monitoring subcontractors to ensure they are undertaking works in conformity with contractual obligations, analysing costs, variations, final accounts, client meetings, resolving issues, team managment and liaising across multiple stakeholders. Your background: You will need to be a degree or diploma qualified Quantity Surveyor with practice on New Zealand projects over between $5M - $30M in value. Ideally you will have at least 5 + years practice in a QS function; however estimating skills would also be useful. You will need to have a positive attitude and be a team player. Your capability to manage relationships with colleagues, project managers, engineers, architects, sub-contractors and tradespeople will allow you to become a valued member of the project team.
