Hawkins Theatre is a 300 seat capacity community theatre & cinema in Papakura. Information technology hosts a variety of community, professional & touring events all over the year, as well as regular film screenings with some of the latest releases on the cinema circuit.
The venue is on the lookout for an Event Managerto be a senior representative on-site primarily on evenings and weekends. You will be fully responsible for the timely and professional delivery of all aspects of facilities services including front of house including basic technical setups, superviseing the bar/café operation and operational management of events.
This is not a 'behind the scenes' function, you will be an integral part of our theatre team, knowledge the logistics and set up required. You will need to be hands-on, open to learning new expertise and be willing to jump in & assist the team in providing customer service to the highest standard.
He k?rero m?u: About you
You will primarily take responsibility for the on-the-day event delivery & management in Hawkins Theatre including front of house management, basic technical assistance with sound & lighting, and superviseing the bar/café operation, so a background of theatre /cinema, event or leisure management is essential.To succeed in this function, you will need a professional and approachable manner with impeccable customer service expertise. You will be able to think on your feet, be creative and problem solve in a pressured environment.
You will also have 2years+ practice as a Senior manager function or 1 years+ in a managerial function. Aproven capability to lead, manage, motivate, and develop staff, impeccable customer service expertise and practice. Furthermore, the right applicant will possess the capability to think outside the square, challenge the way things are done, propose suggestions for improvement anddemonstrated knowledge of the cultural diversity within New Zealand.
You would also be engaging and fosterpositive working relationships with all cultural groups, have stronginterpersonal expertise as you will work closely with Casual Ushers,Security and Contractors.
Please note flexibilty to work shift hours is esseintial as we operateevenings, early mornings, late finishes mainly inweekends, and occasionally public holidays.
